2009 Model Changes

Postby AZ_Path » Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:55 pm

Changes for MY 2009 are posted on nissannews.com. Looks like the MSRP's have increased by $910 across the board. I think the side curtain airbags being standard is a good move. It improves the IIHS side impact safety rating from Marginal to Good. (http://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=390)

· Standard front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags on all models
· New auto speed-sensing door locks
· Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System now standard on LE models
· Two new exterior colors: Red Brick and Navy Blue
· SE Premium Package contents now split into SE Journey and SE Premium Packages
· Power Moonroof Package now a stand-alone option on SE and LE models
· 17-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels now available with SE Journey Package
· 18-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels now standard on LE V6 (previously standard on LE V8 only)

I gave the announcement a quick read through. The thing that stuck out is that it doesn't appear that the SE-Off Road or the SE-V8 are offered anymore. The V8 appears to be only offered in the LE and only with 4WD.

I take part of that back. The rundown for all 2009 models says there are five models and includes the SE-Off Road. The Pathfinder specific page for 2009 says there are four models and does not mention the SE-Off Road.

was told the v8 is being canned in the pathy for 09 at the dealer, as they were stealing sales from the Armada.

i like the fact that my model was made for one year only.

in terms of them stealing sales from Armada... (while it makes sense) i still have yet to see another V8 Pathy anywhere in NJ, NY or MD.

That's not true, your dealer knows about as much as most dealers; which is nothing. The Pathfinder will have the V8 for 09. I'll be ordering one from the factory in about 3 weeks (trading in the Xterra) and have the 2009 pathfinder brochure with the V8 featured in it.

I stand corrected...

As an interesting side note, Cummins and Nissan are partnering up to provide diesel engines in North American Nissan vehicles. Specifically the larger commercial vehicles, but also in the Titan. There are unconfirmed rumours that this powertrain option could trickle down to Maxima, Pathfinder Armada, and Pathfinder by MY2010 to meet EPA 2010 requirements.

Nice.. so does that mean my SE-V8 is considered limited edition?
I've had mine since november of 07 and to date..i think i've only seen 4 other v-8 pathfinders.

Somewhere I read that some 2009 PF models come with russet colored leather seats and trim which seemed to spark some interest. Think medium toned natural saddle leather brown.

Here in Calgary Canada I am hard pressed to find a V6 Pathfinder... they all seem to be V8s, including mine.

Last year to get an '07 bare bones S model for a work truck in a color we liked I had to get Fish Creek Nissan to bring it in. They said that it came from some place in BC and was the only one they could find in western Canada.
