Trailer hitch ball mounts...

Postby BMXPath » Wed Oct 01, 2008 8:07 am

What is the standard height for a ball mount on the P-Finder? What is the drop amount I should buy?

Here is a pic I found of the Factory one.

The drop totally depends on the trailer you tow. The trailer must sit level when hooked up. I have a 4" drop to tow my boat & a 2" drop for my utility trailer.

Yeap, totally depends on what you plan to tow. I have 3 of them that I use as needed in mine.

I agree. However, when I bought my '06 LE 2WD, the factory recommended mount was a 4" drop, period. That seemed odd because (if memory serves) the truck sits a bit lower than the SE and ALL 4WD versions, which I believe called for a 2" drop. Wierd science . . .
