2002 Pathfinder roof rack cover noise

Hi all,

I just purchases a 2002 pathfinder. The front cover that goes across like a wind cover that says Nissan thumps when driving. The cross member under it is rusted. Can anyone point to a thread or help with this issue.

I would like to know about this also mind not rusted but sometimes it's rattling
