leaking coolant

Postby Joshpath » Sun Jun 11, 2017 12:28 pm

I was driving when all of a sudden I heard a sound and the coolant stared gushing out.
Looks at its coming from the thermostat area also I hear a rattlins from what appears to be the water pump area.
Any thoughts of what I might have to look at?

It sounds, by your description, like the water pump broke. It's just to the left of the thermostat and driven by the timing chain. I believe there is a drain for the water pump on the driver's side of the engine in case it leaks to help it prevent contaminating the oil.

I would check the engine all for possible coolant contamination. If it's not, it should be fine.
