PRG Minilift (PICS Updated)

Postby madrock » Thu Jun 03, 2010 8:34 pm

I set aside time to work on the lift tomorrow, but I had some extra time tonight and was able to finish installing the front spacers tonight. I took it for a test drive, and I was surprised just how smooth the ride was. I was expecting some coil bucket contact when I sped over some speed bumps but it never happened. On my Titan I had to take a grinder and grind some of the lip off of the coil bucket to limit the contact.

For now, she sits in my garage until I can finish the rear. The SoCal prerunner stance is okay on the Titan (towing an imaginary boat) but not so much on the Pathy.

I hope to have some pics posted by Saturday.

I know...this thread is useless without pictures

Did you take measurements before and after the lift was installed?

Are you talking about the rear spacers? Greg from PRG said it may be possible to run deavers with the bags on a Titan since it is the shocks that limit the travel. My guess is that it is possible.

Yes sorry about that. I was looking at the lift but I was not sure how the rear spacers sat. how much it changed the measurements inside of the spring for the bags to fit.

I finished putting on the lift yesterday morning but haven't been able to take any pictures yet. I am waiting on the wifey to clear room on the camera's memory card. My post lift measurements have changed since I finished the rear:

Here are my measurements before the lift:

L Front - 33 3/4
R Front - 33 3/4
L Rear - 34 1/3
R Rear - 34 1/3

And here are my measurements after:

L Front - 36 1/4
R Front - 36 1/4
L Rear - 36 1/2
R Rear - 36 1/2

Unfortunately for now 265/70/16. The stealership put on a brand new set when I bought the Pathy, so I am going to burn through these a bit first. They are the GY SilentArmor so they will work for me when I travel through the white country.

With it being 110 degrees outside, I really didn't have time to setup the shots I wanted with the Pathy. I am going camping in southern Utah in a couple weeks. I should get better shots then.

Grille mod, sprayed with bedliner, removed air dam to add 2nd tow hook, and temporarily removed skid plates to bedliner them:

Looks great! Did you get an alignment done or is it not needed? Thanks for your input

I haven't gotten an alignment yet. I checked the toe, and it didn't seem to be off. I have a $15 off coupon with Firestone so I still may take it over there. There is a Firestone across from my office, but I've started taking an express bus to work saving wear and tear on my rigs. If I decide to drive to work then I'll take it in.

I recently added front tow hooks to my LE, as it came with none. On the driver side, I had to notch out some of the skid plate to make it fit. The passenger side had no issues. It was easy work with a air grinder with a 4" wiz wheel. I wanted to let you know before you coated it with bedliner. That's a good idea...I may have to try that.

BTW, both your rigs look nice.

Thanks for the tip! Nice rig you have there. I was holding out hope I could find an OR edition one in white but no such luck.

I like the blue color. I wish I could have found an OR edition. They are hard to find around here. Most 4wds are sent up north, especially a couple years ago when auto sales tanked. People around here did not want to spend the extra money for a 4wd, so the dealers did not order them.
