Mine went bad while doing the rear brakes. I must have whacked the rotor too hard to get it loose, after that I had a ton of play on the tire like you mentioned. I've emailed moog, but don't expect the hear back. Well it's the wheel bearing, it's toast. Why didn't they allow a 1/8" more cleara...

nope, I reuse them. Note that a few weeks ago, I also was working on my rear hubs. Had an issue with fitment on the MOOG 541003. It would not allow the driveshaft through the hub. Here is the link to my post. http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=14143 That's interesting...I used MOOG bearin...

Wheel bearing/hub bolts

Morning Folks, I'm 99% sure I toasted a rear wheel bearing (passenger side) on my '07 Pathfinder. I've got to dig into it tonight. I've replaced the front bearing/hub assemblies a few years ago so I know the process, pretty simple overall. My question is I noticed the manual says I'm suppose replace...

I just ordered the plugs and went with the Iridium IX. It's what I could get my hands on so that's where I went. I guess the IX are suppose to perform a tab better but not last quite as long as the lasers. Pretty much what was said above. I drove the Pathfinder a bit over the weekend and the ...

I've had some slight pinging on/off when lugging as you described. I drive in a very hilly area and notice it sometimes before it downshifts. It's happened since the vehicle was new but it got more noticeable in the last year or so, probably around 120k miles. I changed spark plugs at 100k miles an...

That's what I was thinking as well.

Maybe it's not so much spark knock but incomplete combustion.

Boy those are expensive plugs!

Thanks,

'07 Pathfinder pinging?

So...my '07 seems to be pinging more and more. It really likes to do it when it's gets lugged down a bit in 5th, say 40ish MPH. You can feel it run a bit rough while it's pinging. Keep the RPMs up and it doesn't seem to happen. The old girl has 140,000ish miles on it and other then the timing chain ...

Radiator Replacment?

So if I was going to replace the radiator as preventative maintenance on my '07 Pathfinder is there a preferred brand?

Also how big a job is it? I've replaced radiators before but mostly in older vehicles where pretty much everything is exposed.

Thanks,

K

Did you end up getting it in? I would suggest just cutting the bolt. That's what I was referencing in an earlier post in which they are often seized in those bushings. As for the axle it should just go back in, just make sure the splines are lined up. Rotate until it slides in. If you did get it al...

So, I would have taken a picture BUT I couldn't get the rear bolt out of the LCA to save my life. I tried everything I had on hand. I think I can cut the bolt with a cut off disk, which I was out of in the shop. I really need to invest in a set of torches. Many bad words escaped tonight... The final...

Kopeck, did you receive your parts? I'd love to see a pic. I think I am going to change my LCA's soon and I'm debating the moog replacements or buying OEM Nissan. The Nissan part is more then twice the cost so I'd love to stay with the moogs if you have a nice experience with them. I have used Moog...

Just a warning. I "took advantage" of a similar rebate a couple of years ago. I filled out the online form and submitted everything. They gave you a number so you could check the status. I did that for quite a while (months) and still no rebate. I emailed them and they gave me a list of re...

Thanks guys. I can post a picture when I get them. What do you guys do to get the ball joint out of the knuckle (pinch)? Just loosing the bolt and give the knuckle a rap on the side? I debating doing the shocks while I'm in there. I replaced all of them about 2 years ago, around 30k - 40k. The back ...

Lower Control arm, do I really need to remove the axle?

First off, Hello! My '07 Pathfinder has a ball joint that's getting a little lose. Nissan suggest replacing the whole control arm so I've got a couple of them on order (MOOG). I was reading the service manual and it wants me to remove the axle. Is this really necessary? Just glancing at it, to me, i...
