To my knowledge, all R50 Pathfinders and their Infiniti cousins were made in Japan. I've heard of the problem occurring on 01-04 models, so having the power screws checked wouldn't be a bad idea if you plan on keeping her for a while. Yes I usually keep my cars for 200K or if the repairs out weigh ...

I did call Nissan not a dealer , the big com...

valve screws in the intake can work loose and fall down int

Actually, jumped timing is not a common problem on these engines. What is common is that the power valve screws in the intake can work loose and fall down into the engine. Sometimes they'll get caught on top of the valve and sometimes they'll fall past the valve into the combustion chamber. An inta...

They are the same tire. The Geo-Trac Patagonia A/T tire is manufactured by Nankang Tires of China and may be branded as "Milestar." Personally, I think there are better options for tires available, but, to each his own! Thank you so the bottom line is if the tires marked Geo-tract its mad...

who makes Nissan oil

Back in the '90s, Nissan oil was made by Amoco. Not sure who's making it now. Castrol could be a possibility. Pennzoil would be another, as they do use them for their LSD oil under warranty. I'd be surprised if many dealers actually use Nissan oil as most of them probably buy it in bulk form. As lo...

whats in Nissan oil

Maybe someone will know. If I had to guess, I'd say Castrol given they make some other Nissan fluids. I wouldn't sweat it either way...as long as it meets the specs required (which i'm sure it does), it will be fine. Doesn't seem like that great of a deal though. Autozone has a $17 special currentl...

If the pads aren't that old, you can just replace the rotors. I've used Wagners and Raybestos Professional Series Advanced Technology rotors on Pathfinders and both have worked well. You may want to check with your local brake shops and/or Nissan dealer and see what it would cost to cut your rotors...

brake judder

Rotors should be resurfaced or replaced any time pads are replaced. Nissan recommends using an on-car brake lathe. Pulsation has nothing to do with the type of pads, but with a warped rotor, or, as Nissan calls it, "rotor thickness variation." thank you for your help . I would have wasted...
