Just wondering if the cost vs. noticeable difference with the tuner in place is worth it. Would run the 91 octane tune with timing advance +2 when towing. Not looking to replace the Pathy just looking for slight increase in power when going up slight inclines and hills. Does it make a noticeable dif...

Bullydog and towing

I have read all the topics about Bullydog tuner here and with the Xterra/Frontier boards. No good info on towing differences after the tuner. Just purchased a new trailer fully loaded weight is 3500 to 4000 lbs. I feel that it lags on slight inclines and is having a hard time keeping speed with hill...

So after getting the rear cover off in one piece, I was able to figure the problem out. The entire lock mechanism was bent out of place to an angle that would not allow the door to open. This happened while were wheeling pretty hard in Moab on one of the big obstacles. I am just happy I was able to ...

I think it happened while wheeling outside of Moab. The cooler got tossed around pretty good. I will try to remove without breaking the panel. Once I get in there how can I unlatch it manually? Looks like a fun day for me in the morning.

Thanks,

Rear door won't open.

Tried everything from disconnecting the battery to trying to unlock it from the manual emergency lever. It is unlocking when using the door switch and key fob but am unable to open the door. Anyone else had this problem? I can't take the panel off to trouble shoot. What can I do?

No I did not. I just pushed the propeller shaft to the side. It was super tight but got the job done.

The redesign was intentional because of the chronic issues with them leaking. Design looked much better on the new one. I replaced mine and it was not too hard of a job. Just have to really put some muscle into the gear puller/seal puller.

I think it is a 10 mm bolt that came out. Get a new bolt and it will work like new. Same thing happened to me.

Well found a tank for $75 at the local junk yard from a 2007 Xterra. Fits like a glove.

So I am going to be ordering a tank here in the next day and talked with a guy at the Nissan dealer. Gave him the VIN# for both vehicles and he said the part numbers are different between the 2005 Xterra and my 2007 Pathfinder. From what you are saying, and what I am seeing at Nissan Courtesy the pa...

Need items needed for timing tensioner replacement

As the title says I am going to rip into the engine and replace the tensioner that is warn. I have looked at the boards and got mixed reviews. What parts do I need and what parts are optional? Do the chains need to be replaced or is it just a good idea? A parts list would be fantastic so that I don'...

Thanks, ended up taking about 5 hours with a trip to the local auto store. Did not have the 30 mm socket to remove the nut holding the flange. Now time to do the timing chain tensioner.

Leaking seal in transfer case.

So I am leaking at the seal behind the front propeller shaft coming out of the transfer case. Anyone else had this problem? Does not look to hard to do but am looking for some heads up on what to watch out for.

Any help is appreciated.
