Re: About to have new radiator installed... bypass still advisable?

Oh ok... I thought I had always heard that radiator fans on basically all cars kick on when the AC is turned on.... unless I am thinking of the engine cooling fan. Being that the radiator has no coolant in it currently, would that cause pressure to be low and be the cause if it not kicking on when I...

Re: About to have new radiator installed... bypass still advisable?

Ok thanks for the insight. One other thing... I just did the automatic diagnostic test where you turn the key on and push that button on the driver side door jamb 10 times and it runs through a series of tests for horn/wipers/lights and also tests if the radiator cooling fans comes on. The fan works...

Re: About to have new radiator installed... bypass still advisable?

The heater hose assembly comes with new inlet/outlet doesn't it? I actually replaced that assembly myself about 3 years ago and I seem to recall all that old plastic breaking and being replaced, but I can't recall buying the inlet/outlet separately. I understand the oem thermotstat, but do you feel ...

About to have new radiator installed... bypass still advisable?

I have a 2008 V6 PF that I performed the tranny cooler bypass on years ago. My radiator just went bad so I am getting it replaced in a couple days. I ordered the Denso brand one off Rock Auto. Does this radiator still have a tranny cooler attached to it? If it does, is it supposed to have a design t...

I'm definitely going to check and clean battery connections... also going to try and check starter solenoid connections assuming this vehicle has basically the same type of starter/solenoid setup I've been used to with vehicles I had owned in the past.

Ok started car up after having it sit for over 24 hours... started up like a champ three times in a row. Like I said, so random. If it was a fuel pump issue, would it be happening nearly every time and are there any tell-tale signs? Btw, is it completely normal to quickly smell a very noticeable gas...

Absolutely no sound or attempted turning over. I just let the car sit for over an hour and tried to crank it up and it started perfectly. It's so random at times. The last two mornings I started it up and each time the issue occurred. I'm going to let it sit a long time today and try it again much l...

PF doesn't always start on initial key turn

This is a issue that has been happening over the course of close to a year now. It my wife's car and she used to think it was due to her jumping in car and doing too quick/short of a key turn. It started out where maybe once or twice a month(starting car up at least four times a day), she would turn...

I more than likely will replace it, but I just wondered if there could be a way to screw a headless screw rod in there

Wish I knew how to easily include a pic of it but if you go google "Nissan New OEM Pair of Rear Tailgate Window Hinges - 2005-2012 Pathfinder", you'll see it on Amazon for instance and see this pic of the screw that is missing on mine. [/img]

To smj999smj or anyone else who might know about this... On that same upper part of the hinge with the red circle, there is a a screw/nut combo inside that holds the upper hinge to the body. Mine came loose and fell back inside the hinge. Can that screw/nut combo be easily bought at a parts store an...

Is this tire size ok for 2008 PF?

I have a 2008 PF LE. Stock tire size 265/65/17. I have been riding on 245/70/17 for nearly two years with no issue that I can detect. Last week I got a nail in side wall of a rear tire and did manage to plug it but I don't trust it, plus the front tires have maybe a year left on them. Ran into a guy...

Heater hose repair

My wife's 08 PF sprung a leak... it's the dreaded heater hose assembly. Going to have to suck it up and pay the dealership for the part. I saw a good tutorial on Youtube, but just curious if there are any tutorials posted here or any tips for doing this? Also, I see a very short hose sticking out of...
