Re: Frontier Rock Sliders/Side Steps

I've actually been wondering about that myself. I suspect if you get one for a Frontier, we'd have to go with the crew cab long bed version? I don't know of anyone with a 2nd gen Frontier near me though to get measurements. I guess Ill do more digging. If I had more time, I would build a master lis...

Frontier Rock Sliders/Side Steps

Anyone tried to fit Frontier side steps/Sliders on an R51? Ive heard of Frontier guys putting Pathfinder rails on, so I am assuming the mounting points are the same. Sliders for frontiers are a bit cheaper. I would like them gone altogether but like having the steps for the RTT and convenience. Just...

Bilstein 4600 + Moog Springs

Howdy, I am at 160k miles and I believe it is time to swap out the struts and springs. In my research, it sounds like the Bilstein 4600s with the Moog rear springs are the way to go and give an improved ride quality. I often tow a boat and I have a rooftop tent thats adding 125lbs up top at all time...

2011 SV here. I have stock 17s and run 265/70/17. Raises the height about an inch which was good for me as I didn't want to do an actual lift. Info is in my signature. Also, if you've never driven with larger tires before, your gas mileage will drop depending on the size and the load rating of it. ...

Larger Tires on Stock Suspension

What are the largest tires you can fit on the R51 on stock suspension without rubbing/causing issues?

I don't see a need in my case for any sort of lift but I do drive in some sandy conditions and would like to get some AT tires when I am due next.

2012 Silver Edition

Thanks!

R51 Front Tow Hook Hack

For those of you who do not have a front tow hook, want one, but do not want to spend ~$70 for it... I may have a solution for you. It was killing me to not have a great source of a recovery point for the front of the Pathy but also did not want to drop $70 on a large hunk of metal and also wanted s...

Re: what is this death roll

thing that you guys are talking about? One thing I noticed immediately when I got my Pathy was how stable it was at hwy speeds, 80-90 mph. My point of reference is the 2011 Xterra i used to have, compared to the Xterra the pathfinder rides very smooth and stable on the hwy. But then my Odyssey feel...

So how does it drive now, with the new shocks? : ) Put the Airlift and new sway bar bushings in yesterday evening. Just went for a short drive and can already tell there is an improvement. Won't really know until I get up to highway speeds which is where I could really feel it before. Should have a...

I would say the air bags are a lot cheaper and easier than replacing the coil springs. If you get involved in replacing springs, a lot of times you find bolts that have seized to the bushing sleeves, meaning they have to be cut out. Air bag kits usually run around $80 for the set. Most can install ...

If money is an issue, the springs are the cheapest and easiest to change. Start with those first. I would also change out the rear sway bar bushings. They're cheap. Goes with OEM on those. They're the same price as aftermarket. If that still doesn't get the ride to an acceptable level, then do the ...

The main issue isn't so much the rear shocks, but the weak factory coil springs...but, of course, if your rear shocks are bad, it will make matters worse. Initially, people would swap out the stock rear shocks for Bilstein 4600 shocks AND install Airlift 1000 air bags. The air bags prevented the re...

Death Roll -- Changing the problem with a solution

So, one week into ownership I have already experienced what some of you call the "death roll" while on the highway hitting some bumps. I thought the Pathy was trying to get rid of me. To keep it simple, I have seen many suggest Airlift 1000, some suggest Bilstein (4600), and I have seen Bi...

I am very skeptical of this mod myself. Also keep in mind that Nissan MAFs ( which are BTW expensive) do not like oiled filters like a K&N... so if u are thinking about it fair warning... :) I was going to go AEM Dry Filter, unless there are other better options? What is the big deal with the A...

Honestly no. It was a pain not so much as to actually mod it, but to deal with the trouble code even though it went away eventually (even after ECU reset, forced clearing it, just letting ECU figure things out, etc...). I did replace the MAF with OEM as part of this and still had the code. Then one...

I did the airbox mod. Didn't notice a HUGE difference in performance to be honest, but I can see how letting in more air would help the engine. After I did mine, it threw a code that would come off and on again. I think it was P0101 or something along those lines saying the MAF was bad. It wasn't, ...
