Are you sure you really have a problem with the electrical system. I had a similar problem where the engine would not start after the truck was sitting overnight. I looked at the electrical stuff and had the battery tested and they said it was ok. Nothing conclusive was found. However, I ended up r...

This sounds like a SMJ question. He's the resident Nissan gray beard here and used to be a Nissan master tech. Hopefully he chimes in. I'm curious myself :) Thanks for the post...I searched around the internet and from what I can see...you need a Nissan specific cable...which are pricey! Although a...

Key Switch circuit causing battery drain when switched off

Hi All I'm trying to get to the bottom of a battery drain issue on my R51 2007. .6amp or 620milliamps when car is left switched off...which is way too high and has been draining my brand new battery in about a day and a half! It was 620 even when I completely unplugged the IPDM unit and took it out ...

Nissan Consult 3 Diagnostic Software Help?

Hi I recently bought a Pathfinder R51 2007 and thought is would be good to obtain a copy of the Consult 3 software. I downloaded and installed it but cannot get is to connect with my car. Do I need a special cable or adapter to use this software or will standard OBD2 cables work? I tried 2 different...

I have found the main source of the battery drain...upon removing the 10a fuse in the glove box marked "KEY SW"...I connected up the multimeter and this time...waited until it settled down. The amps dropped by 450 milliamps so that was what was using all the power parasitically. Of course....

Might not be a problem. It could be how it is designed to work. I think this way of operating is common to most modern cars.[/quote]

You may well be right!

On my 08 R51 with the 6 cyl gas engine, I noticed that it takes some time for the current draw on the battery to drop down to the 50mA level. Somewhere around 20-30 minutes. Yes...I had read this elsewhere. I will do some more thorough checks over the weekend and see what I can come up with. I have...

Well....the car started fine yesterday morning, and had a drive of about 4 miles...all seemed to be ok. However, this morning, the battery was flat...not even enough power to enable me to turn the key in the ignition. So not sure what is going on? Either my battery was still low and had not charged ...

Well....already an update! I got a call from the Nissan Dealer who told me that they had found TWO of the illusive relays in stock after all...so I popped round and bought BOTH for £10! The code was similar to the "recall" item above - 284B7-CW28E (and not CW29E). I dutifully went home an...

Please see my new post regarding "Battery Drain - seems a common issue" as it seems that the ECM relay may well be the culprit to the engine cranking issues folks are having....as well as battery drain due to the same relay going bad.

I hope this helps?

Battery Drain...seems a common issue?

Hi - I'm new to the Forum so thank you for letting me join! I just bought a 2007 R51 2.5 DCi and I experiencing the issue of serious battery drain. I can see from many posts on this forum and on the internet...that the most likely culprit is the mini relay which controls the ECM. If these are going ...
