Main window switch repair...............

Here is an EXCELLENT repair tutorial on how to access & clean the main window switch contacts for the passenger and rear windows. Oddly there is no mention of the driver door window switch and repairing it, but it's a completely different switch from the other three, and I've never heard of the driv...

Often when the ECM detects a problem that will cause it to set a trouble code, it will take a snapshot of some of the datastream info, i.e. coolant temp, engine RPM, calculated load %, O2 sensor readings, etc., which is called the "freeze frame" data. This can be useful to the technician when he's ...

Thanks!
But I'm not sure what you mean by this................

"it's not just have the CAN COMM code but also certain info stored in the freeze frame data in order to comply with the bulletin."

Our '05 R51 threw a U1000 code.

Are there any drivability problems associated with this code? Can the code be a fluke with no actual problem? I read the service bulletin (NTB06-009a) but didn't see any mention of performance issues. Can there be any in our future? Had the code read at a local auto parts store, cancelled the code b...

I would have to do it in hiding...
That sounds like something California would like to implement!

I am just so much of a perfect maintenance kind of guy... And I just saw a vid of a engine ruined by lack of oil changes... :( I am thinking of buying a couple quarts at the gas station draining the oil just a bit and refilling those up top. That should freshen the oil considerably.. dont have any ...

I still vote battery post clamp. I replaced mine with a generic one from Autozone. Have never had this issue return since. There are times when the seemingly complex problems are caused by the most basic of things. That's a really nice way of saying "In some places, they used some crap designs, met...

Ok started car up after having it sit for over 24 hours... started up like a champ three times in a row. Like I said, so random. If it was a fuel pump issue, would it be happening nearly every time and are there any tell-tale signs? Btw, is it completely normal to quickly smell a very noticeable ga...

When you say "nothing would happen", do you mean that the starter motor wasn't activated at all, or that the starter motor would spin the engine but the engine would not "fire up"?
