fwiw, mine was tripping after 25 miles. I replaced the cat and it hasn't come back yet (125 miles or so later).

UPDATE: Just did the cat change out on the drivers side. It took me about 3hrs to do it. Nothing too complicated, just no room for your hands. We'll see if it takes care of the SES light. I got the cat off of ebay and it fit perfectly. $160

the oil is just pb blaster that i sprayed on the bolts on the flange as I am planning on changing the cat.

Check this out...

The frame is the black thing to the left. The cat is the silver thing to the right. Notice the discoloration, obviously from excessive heat, on the frame. Could this mean my cat is bad? Has anyone ever seen this?

Replacing Cat DIY

Anybody done this themselves? Getting ready to change out the drivers side cat Saturday and was hoping for some insight or tips. I have PB Blaster soaking on the bolts right now, and gonna hit them for the next couple of days.

I am currently test driving an '02 4x4 with 89k miles on it. The carfax is clean, but I know there has been some paint on the rear of the car and there are no VIN stickers on any panel on the car.
