Warm the truck up as much as you can, wd40 on the plugs and then try to pull the plugs. Be careful because it's easier to break the porcelain when warm, but this is the best bet to get the plugs out.
Just a thought. How about having the welder put some support beams on your oem and rhino line them instead of powder coating. Won't last forever but it should buy you a year or so until you find or build what you want.
