I bought my '08 in December from a private party with only 14k miles. I'd say the jury is out on the '08+ models as I've not seen many complaints or problems so far. Hopefully they fixed some of the common problems on the earlier models. I likely won't do many mods either. Might try to do some suspe...

Re: Ut-oh, this could be real spendy!

Service writer said he would try to get Nissan to goodwill the repair. I hope so, 'cause I might be tempted to just trade the thing if they say no. I'm sure those head units are proudly priced. Probably not as expensive as the loss on yours and cost of buying a new vehicle. Probably not even near a...

Gonzo: I notice you have a small hood deflector on your Pathy. Have you noticed any noise or change in windshield washer performance? I've not been impressed with them in the past but those were much bigger and on full-size vehicles. Yours looks fairly flush. I get a lot of rock chips on the road I'...

I have an 07 Titan 5.6 V8, and only calls for regular and produces 317 hp., yet to gain max hp on my V8 5.6 Pathfinder, I'm supposed to use premium to get the full 310 horses, What's with that??? I can see the Titan having more options for exhaust so perhaps the tighter engine compartment on the Pa...

I just bought an '08 SE (identical to '09) and the premium is recommended for maximum performance. There's a sticker on the gas lid that states this. I've put about 5k miles on mine since December and haven't noticed ANY difference in mpg between premium/regular. I tend to mix it up a bit just depen...

This is the non-auto 4x4 system that can switch between 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo.

Had a chance to play with this the last couple days. The only way mine will disengage from 4wd is to coast for about 5 seconds. Works every time for me. My vehicles in the past just required letting off the throttle for a second but this one takes 5.

I haven't looked much under the hood of mine yet (just got it in late Dec.) but that looks like a typical MAF port. Sometimes you can see a film on the sensor if it's overoiled and they make a cleaner for them but you have to be very very careful. MAF's are very sensitive and figure a couple benji's...

It's not usually the intake that the oil hurts, it's the MAF sensor. And that will affect power and fuel burn. Mainly an OVER-oiling issue but it can happen. My problem with the oiled filters is they always show up on oil analysis as additional contaminants and wear metals. Not a lot and usually sti...

I bought my '08 from a private party. Most ALL of the '08-'09 S models out there are rental returns. Many of the SE's are as well. I'm not a big fan of buying a rental return, but that's your call. Just be aware that most of the used ones are. I wanted an '08+ for the mild updates. Premium is recomm...

The first month I had mine it switched in/out immediately. The other day it started taking awhile and once was about 5 miles (throught turns, stops, etc.). This morning it turned off immediately. I've had a lot of 4x4's and almost all just required letting off the gas. Not sure why this one wants to...

Certainly not a 4x4 in that price range. I just sold a completely beat 2001 F-150 4x4 (used in a mining pit....) for $2,000. But I just can't think of many situations that putting a plow on a light-duty vehicle would be smart. My neighbor has some small but stout riding mowers with chains that will ...

I was using my bumper the other night through some drifts

Stock Generals have been pretty good but this deep, wet, heavy stuff is a bit much beyond 8". Honestlyl, I can't see putting a plow on something this lightweight but I suppose a super light model might be ok for very small jobs.

Same story for me and I landed on the Pathfinder. There are very few choices that are real SUV's in this size today. PF, 4Runner, and Explorer are about it. I likely would have bought the 4Runner had the seats not been just horrible. I don't NEED a 3rd row though and the 4Runners 3rd row is useless ...
