Turns out it was the MAF sensor. I used carb cleaner on a Q-tip and carefully cleaned it.The VSS also needed to be replaced.

1997 OD Light Flashing and No Power

My 97 was running just fine then today when I started it the CEL came on and the truck was sluggish and jerking on acceleration. I then noticed the od light flashing and the lack of power.

I haven't checked the codes yet but wanted to put it out there to see what I get back. What is the problem?

How Hard is it to Change a Windshield?

I just bought a 97 Pathy for parts and it has a brand new windshield.I asked the glass shop and he said it would probably break taking it out.How likely is it that this will happen? I've done windshields on older pick ups but they used a rubber gasket vs the butyl type sealer that this one has. Any ...

Thanks. The unit would be an upgrade from my 97 Pathfinder as the QX4 has leather and the larger engine.I just don't want to take on too much of a project.

2002 QX4 Needs Timing Chain

I have a chance to buy this vehicle but I'm concerned that the valves may have hit the pistons. The guy says it was running and then shut off then it wouldn't start. He was told it was his timing chain. If its the timing chain ;can the chain be replaced? Or is it more likely;y that that engine is toast...

Thanks for the reply. It seems you're the one who always responds. Thanks for the heads up on the coolant hose and the egr.I have been spraying it and am hoping that its not too much of a pain. BTW I went to a PartSource and found the gaskets I needed were roughly 60 bucks more than what the factory g...

R50 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

My PF needs valve cover gaskets and I am looking for information from others who have done this.I realize I have to pull the intake to do the d/s and I've read some of the hoses are a pain to get off.Should they be ordered?I'd like to order all the parts and be able to start and finish without delay...

P0174 Any Suggestions?

Wow.I just got done replacing my bank 1 catalytic converter to get rid of the P0420 code on my 97 Pathy and now I get a 174 code on Bank 2.Literally the next day. I've done some searching and it sounds like the MAF sensor or an 02 sensor.I've also read it can be a vacuum leak. Can someone point me i...

I think it might be in the design of the unit. There's probably a better spring/ shock combo out there but I went with stock replacements. The shocks were Monroe Sensatracs and not the Sensa I listed earlier. The shocks were larger in diameter than the ones I took out and the old ones were definitely ...
