Turns out it was the MAF sensor. I used carb cleaner on a Q-tip and carefully cleaned it.The VSS also needed to be replaced.

My 97 was running just fine then today when I started it the CEL came on and the truck was sluggish and jerking on acceleration. I then noticed the od light flashing and the lack of power.

I haven't checked the codes yet but wanted to put it out there to see what I get back.What is the problem?

Thanks.The unit would be an upgrade from my 97 Pathfinder as the QX4 has leather and the larger engine.I just don't want to take on too much of a project.

I have a chance to buy this vehicle but I'm concerned that the valves may have hit the pistons.The guy says it was running and then shut off then it wouldn't start.He was told it was his timing chain.If its the timing chain ;can the chain be replaced? I broke the wire to the d/s speed sensor and after removing the bolt from the hub,I can't get it out.Any hints on how to remove it with the least amount of pain?
