OK, thanks. That is the kind of info I was looking for. My 03 was such a fantastic vehicle. One minor problem with the A/C blower that was fixed with a $5.00 part from a junk yard. 13 years and 172,000 miles. Great SUV. Thanks again.
I wasn't asking if one computer is comparable with a newer model I was asking if the newer models are know to have computer related problems or just computer problems.
Yesterday my 03 was totaled, 172000 trouble free miles. I can't afford a new one and am looking at some 05 thur 07 that are in my price range (under $8000.00) Two seperate adds mentioned the computers. One said the computer was replaced the other said it had recently been reprogrammed. Are there kno...
After 11 years and 142000 miles I finally replaced my two belts. The new OEM belts squeal no matter what. (old ones didn't) First i tried just tightening and then belt dressing more tightening. In the beginning it would just squeal for the first 5 or 6 minutes and then go away but always squealed wh...
It really is as simple as loosening the two nuts on top (in front of) the pulley tensioners and then loosen the bolt on the bottom of each. Belts come right off. DO NOT DO what I did which was loosen all the bolts on the tensioners themselves which turned a one hour job into a three hour job.
I just looked at my set up under the hood. Also just watched a generic youtube video for a belt tensioner pulley replacement. For the two belt replacements is it as simple as re-leaving the tension on the two separate pulleys (one for each belt) and replacing the belts or do I have to loosen the alt...
Thanks smj. Yea I figured I'd have to remove the skid pad and do most of the work from underneath but I was just hoping I could just weave the belts around the fan and then be in good shape.
Can I replace my two fan belts without removing the fan and or the radiator and or the radiator shroud? I'm sure someone out there has tried this. I have an 03 with just over 140000 miles on it.
It isn't leaking it. No excessive smoke out the tail pipe. I haven't looked at the plugs. They are the original and have never been pulled. The only thing I have done to this great SUV is change the fluids and filters on a more than regular basis. I haven't even replaced the PVC.
My 03 with 125000 miles on it uses what I think is to much oil. About 1 quart per 1000 miles. I have own this thing since new, always taken care of the oil myself in a timely fashion, changing it between 3 and 4 thousands every single time. Anyone else think this isn't normal?
After disconnecting my battery for terminal cleaning all of a sudden my sound system will not come on. Everything else works fine. When I turn the key on after about 7 to 10 seconds I get this high pitched alarm sound from under the dash somewhere for about 2 or 3 seconds, then it goes off and still...
Thanks man. Now are those two screws 8mm long or are they just that size? I have a large varity of screws/bolts so I should have something like you describe in stock.
How do I remove the brake drum to get to my shoes. A friend of mine said it maybe just a floater that can be taped off with a hammer. If not what do I have to unbolt or unscrew?
I have had that same problem since mine was brand new. I should have had them fix it while it was still under warranty. After 7 years and 101,000 miles it still does it without any other problems. My PF hasn't been back to the shop for anything since I purchased it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
