Does it click and grind in 4WD also? I found a front brake backing plate rubbing against the rotor that made some bad noises. Fixing it was a matter of bending the plate back so it doesn't hit the rotor.

There are metal collars with teeth that lock the parts together. You should be able to get them at the dealer. I would also consider losing that air deflector while you are up there.

Thanks, it is dark green and shines up pretty nicely for a non-garage kept 12 year old vehicle. Not being familiar with the Pathfinder before, it was nice to see features like a sunroof, ABS, and climate control - and they all work. Hi there

Here is our new 2002 SE 5-speed, freshly washed and waxed! It's got a new oil pan and rear control arms. It also got new Continental LX20 tires which ride great. So far so good! Image

The mechanical difference between 2wd and 4wd is in the front of the car. Everything in the rear remains unchanged. Take a good close look at the shocks again, particularly the bushings. When the rubber wears out you get a metal to metal noise. That could be what you're hearing. Hooligan, I think t...

Hi all I'm new here. We just got our 2002 Pathy SE 2 weeks ago. It's a 5-speed with 100K miles and it looks real nice. When we test drove it, there was a rattle from the back that sounds like loose heat shields. No problem, or so I thought. But... I checked all the shields and they are all solid. Th...
