Please excuse my ignorance here but I thought the mass air flow sensor would compensate for whatever air volume comes through. If this is the case, no matter what you do, the fuel to air mixture will be the same. Granted if you have more air and colder air you will have more power but the mpg shouol...

gas tank level with DTE reminder

OK, it has been a week since I have posted, so we march along with another queston. When my DTE gauge says zero and I fill up, I still can only put about 17 gallons in the tank. This leaves me about 4 gallons still in the tank, not close to empty How can I get the DTE estimate to be closer to zero? R

Brake fluid

As a new PF owner with 93K miles, I have numerous questions. The next one concerns brake fluid. I am a firm believer in changing the fluids at the appropriate intervals. I have no idea about the history of the car I bought and am trying to methodically go through and change all the fluids. The quest...

It is in the cluster beside the odometer. You use it to change modes and twist to dim or brighten.

I had a jeep once, sold it at 160K. Commuted about 100 miles per day for many years. Used M1, changed the filter ever 3.5 K (added a qt) and the oil and filter every 7K. Seemed to work. Today I rarely drive 3k a year and change oil more on seasons than miles. I was able to find a larger filter for i...

Thanks for all the input. I appreciate the willingness to share information. I am a new PF owner and have many questions. Mostly I don't know the history of the vehicle and want to bring it up to spec so I do know.

oil filter too small

Maybe I am a little anal about this but I look at the oil filter and find it to be very small for the size of the engine. Has anyone identified a larger, maybe longer, filter that is the equivalent? One that would still come through the port in the skid plate. I did this once on a previous car I own...

Thanks for the response.

Did you confirm that this is the normal mode of operation; that is, the center is dimmer than the dash?

This makes no sense to me at all. Like headlights in my eyes from the dash just to be able to read the radio dial.

dash lighting dimming ability

My dash is very bright but the center console including the environmental controls and the Bose radio head are all much dimmer than the dash.

they both respond to the dimmer switch but the brightness levels are very different with the dash being much brighter!

Can I equalize this lighting?

Radiator part numbers '05 Pathfinder

I posted this in my question about a radiator bypass but I think it is being overlooked. OK, now I am really confused. Had the trans flushed today and the fluid showed no problem. However, the shop mgr told me he thought the radiator had been replaced as it looked new. I have bypassed it as noted ea...

sometimes this is like panning for gold. Just be patient an somebody knows the answer and it is usually a nugget. Thanks so much. Online price for the kit is about 3.50 but the shipping is 11.00. I think I will go by the dealer see if they have it. The instructions look simple enough. Are there pref...

Looked up the warranty (thanks for the reference) but it specifically states it covers only the original owner.

Any part part numbers for the fix?

I did mean that the seat belt will NOT retract. Very observant.
