People/stuff, hitch and tongue weight are factored into the GVW of the tow vehicle. You don't want to exceed the GVWR of the tow vehicle. You still shouldn't exceed the tow rating/GCWR though.

Everyone has a different safety limit in mind. About the trailers first: The rental Jayco we had was between between 5300-5600 lbs during the tow. I estimate the tongue weight to have been closer to 700 lbs or so, but because the trailer was a little high in the front it might have been a little mor...

As some know, this was my first tow with the Path over Labor day: 2012 Jay-Flight 26BH http://www.eluwak.com/images/camping/20120903/towing_back.jpg Here is the next challenge. We pick it up in a Month (well one just like it anyway): 2013 North Trail 28BRS http://www.eluwak.com/images/camping/new_ca...

Pump them up to 45-50lbs and you will notice a big difference. I'll keep that in mind for the next time 8) For the trip home I modified the loading a bit and it helped. http://www.eluwak.com/images/camping/20120903/towing_back.jpg Somewhere in the last 50 miles the right rear tire of the trailer bl...

We are! :)

Here's a pic of it hooked up... The trailer is more level than it was, but not as much as I would like. We survived the 200 mile trip to the campground in some pretty windy weather.

We'll be picking up a rental Jayco 26BH for Labor Day camping on Friday. Can't wait to see how the Path tows :) The trip from the dealer to the campground is about 200 miles so it should be a good test. Camper looks like this (~5100 lbs) http://photos.ecarlist.com/QV/Gg/ey/GT/Dz/ij/AN/47/hZ/b9/WQ_64...

Well, determined today that even though the system indicates that the relay is not for the 2012 Path it is still needed to get the +12 V at the 7 pin plug. Also determined that the command strips did not last holding up the brake controller in the cubby... So I guess I'll be stopping by the store fo...

I found it purely by accident as I was moving cables around down there. There are two cables running along each other, one with a bit of foam attached to it that was covering up the connectory  I'm sure it's just like all of the other Pathfinders... The only photo I have at the moment is the o...

Just finished installing everything. The 7 pin connector isn't so bad except that I had to lower the spare to get the right angle on that grey connector (big hands :( ). The Airlift 1000 I expected to be more difficult because all I did was jack up the path about 2". I didn't really have any sp...

Ok, I gotta say I'm lost looking for the brake controller harness connector under the dash. The many instructions I have found so far say it's above the ebrake, but all I have taped up there is a green connecter that looks like it has a different shape. Where should I be looking? does anyone happen ...

I have to say thanks to everyone who pitched in to this thread! We've decided for Labor Day weekend to rent a 26' Travel Trailer for a family camping trip (~5000lbs). We'll have to tow it about 200 miles each way. This thread has provided a ton of info about what we need to do to prep the Path for t...

Low Idle/Engine Stumble

I have a stumble in the engine when stopped at a light or sitting in a parking space. It's worse when the AC is on, but seems to happen even when it is off. It feels like maybe the idle is too low, but I haven't a clue if this is normal for the truck?? :? None of my other cars/trucks have had this. ...
