Nissan sent me an official letter, so I am confused to say the least.

so assuming its correct, and mandatory for CA would you get the ECM updated if you lived elsewhere ?

Thanks Ian.

ECM update 2018 SL

So there is a recall for CA for ECM.
voluntary for the rest of us.
Any inputs, drawbacks ?

"However, if you wish to receive the ECM software update, contact your Nissan dealer at your convenience in order to arrange an appointment and reference Technical Service Bulletin NTB19-045."

Interesting, did you check for pending codes?
my 2003 always threw multiple codes, cam sensors either 1 or both, and crank.

First I let my plugs on my 2003 go though 145 kmiles. They were in ok shape, no codes, and would have lasted longer. You can find the FSM through 2016 at nico. I dont have link handy. search, sign up and ask for link. Nissan took legal action against them, and they took them down. but now you can ac...

Yes on older Pathfinders the cam position sensors would throw a code and go to limp home mode, but not shut off. The codes were there, took in under warrenty while doing this and said to many codes. wait for reoccurance. Did this once or twice a summer from 2004 to 2018. I replaced all sensors inclu...

front pads spreader springs

I just did my second brake job at 104K.
The new pads don't have holes for the spreader springs.
the Factory service manual doesn't even show the spreader springs.
So do I not worry about this ?
Is this a year dependent part ?

Thanks Ian

any suggestions on what to do?
you don't give a yr / engine.
Photos would help.
There are many people on here that would help if they understood the issue better.

Ok. Does the rear turn signal bulb use a dual filament bulb.? Is the problem only when both brake and reversing lights are lit ? If so do they both share a ground. The next steps involve taking multimeter readings, if you don't have one please get an inexpensive one, less then $10, digital from some...

Ok, Well let me say when mine was lower mileage it would use a lot more Oil if I drove it fast on the freeway. This improved over the years. Even with the small leaks it now has, Oil cooler ( fixed once already) and maybe valve covers, its still better at 105K than at 25K when I purchased it. Others...
