Make sure you use OEM. I had both of mine replaced with aftermarket cats (the shop lied to me) and they lasted about 3 months.

awesome! thats great news. I have 124k on my 2008 and im encouraged by this. I did the spark plugs at 100k, but have you had to replace your ignition coils yet? Im curious to see how long before those need to be replaced. I've actually never replaced my plugs or coils. Pulled a plug at 150K miles b...

Just hit 200K miles

So my 2008 V8 LE just hit 200,000 miles and I thought I'd share my overall experiences to this point in case anyone finds this interesting. I've kept every receipt for every repair and, adding up the totals, cost of ownership has been relatively low. 60,000 miles: I replaced a bunch of little stuff,...

+1 for the Road Force balance. I have never, ever gotten a proper balance from any other machine than the Hunter Road Force – and even then I've had to take it back a time or two.

I bought a Jetta wagon a while back and the dealership sold me on an expensive rubber spray-on undercoat that was supposed to make the ride quieter. There was zero difference in road noise. There are rubberized stick-on matts that glue onto the floorboard under your carpet that get solid reviews. A ...

A lot of newer cars in Europe are using the brake lights as rear fog lights now rather than having a separate designated lamp. The switch just turns on the driver side brake lamp. If you really want to put them into the bumper, I'd say you're on the right track with trailer LED lights. SuperBrightLE...

A while back I did extensive research on tramlining because I thought something was wrong with my truck. In short, there are several factors that play into your truck's tendency to tramline––the largest factor being the nature of the truck and the suspension. The next is tires. Highway tires wit...

Couple of things I can add: 1. I'd go for the KYB or factory strut up front. The Bilsteins have a slower expansion/recovery rate that gives the front an odd dynamic. Makes it feel a bit like a dump truck. I've been through a few sets and the factory strut, hands down, feels the best up front. Very s...

I asked about the blending and they said the insurance company (Nationwide) doesn’t pay them to blend. They wouldn’t budge on the one thing, which was weird to me.

Maybe not “loud†as much as I can feel it in the floor. When I accelerate in Auto, it “feels†like 4WD is engaged as the power is gradually being shifted to the front diff.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing—it’s very truck-like. It’s just not a very transparent process.

If you're looking for a great driving experience, get the V8. If you're looking for the least amount of trouble, stay with the 2012. I have a loaded '08 V8 and absolutely love it but I've had my share of repairs. Here are some thoughts for you: - The V8 feels heavier (in a good way) and more substan...

Thanks for the replies, guys. I annoyed the insurance company enough that they agreed to repaint the whole side at a different shop. This shop is actually going to paint sample cards of the variants to make sure the real color matches. Just for fun, here's what the first shop considered a "near...

If you have the cinch motor, it sounds like it may be failing. Mine would first act up when it got cold. It would work sporadically, occasionally blow the fuse, and then not at all. Took about a half hour to swap it out.

Matching Paint

Anyone with the Silverton Blue ever have a panel painted and matched correctly? I had my right side and front bumper replaced and repainted. After two tries, the body shop still can't get the color right. The first time they used the paint code and it was way off. The second time they used a matchin...
