Re: Who has the highest miles? Post miles & service history

Currently 345K. I bought my '05 in 2006 with 16K. I've done all the repair, maintenance, and upgrades on her myself over the years. 3 years ago at 275K, I did a VK56 engine swap... Engine, transmission, ecm, wiring harness from a 2010 Titan. Also installed long tube headers, free-flow cats, and an U...

SPC Upper control arms

My gamble can be someone else's gain! I have a set of SPC upper control arms. They were on my Pathfinder for less than two weeks. These are the upgrade/ performance style ones with ball joints that have +/- 2 degrees of camber adjustment and 1.5 degrees of caster adjustment. I bought them brand new...

Re: It has begun!! Titan VK56 swap in my '05!

Swapped transmissions over the weekend. Took out the 2014 Titan trans and installed a 2010 Titan trans. … Remember that I used a 2010 engine and ecm for the swap. The only code I had left was U0101 (lost communication with tcm). That code has been there since I got it running back in May. Cleared th...

Re: It has begun!! Titan VK56 swap in my '05!

Well, between my 300 lb butt and my subwoofer box, I'm sure I have made up for a few pieces of trim and leather on an LE. :P

Re: It has begun!! Titan VK56 swap in my '05!

Here are a couple of things to consider about the improved gas mileage. These are my semi-educated assumptions... 1. The power to weight ratio has improved alot. So the VK engine is working much less than the VQ to move the Pathfinder around. 2. The VQ40 is designed to run at higher rpm's in order t...

Re: It has begun!! Titan VK56 swap in my '05!

V8 Pathfinder swap update: I got her started May 15th. She wasn’t drivable at the time but the engine was running. Had like 8 or 9 codes with the check engine light. Some of the codes were throttle related and I eventually got most of them worked out. I’ve been driving her for about a month now. Sti...

Re: dual inlet non- "performance" muffler for the V6- options?

I installed a Magnaflow muffler and got rid of the restrictive Y pipe about 10 years ago. I left on the stock resonator. The sound difference is noticeable (and really cool), but not too much. I've never needed to turn up the volume of my stereo because the exhaust was too loud. Seems like those tha...

I've taken more pics and even a 15 second video of it idling BUT I broke my phone Tuesday.
I will post up more when I get my phone fixed. Ordered a new screen that should be in Thurs or Fri.

I did get her started Sat night. Engine fired up on the first try! I do have a problem though... the gas pedal does not work. I think it needs to be programmed to recognize the different throttle body. There are 3 codes set that are related to throttle position. I probably wont get to mess with it u...

Update: We are getting real close to being done. I actually got tot turn the key and cranked the engine this weekend. It did not start, we just turned it over to see if it would. We haven't downloaded the program for the ECM in order to start it yet. The only thing we have left to do is put the rad ...

Is it just me or does it look like the V8 oil filter would line-up perfectly with the oil filter access hole in the factory skid plate, unlike the V6 filter, which is off to the side? The V8 oil filter doesn't line up at all with the V6 access hole. The V8 filter is on the drivers side of the engin...

Oh yeah... Also reinstalled the rad support and front bumper impact beam weekend before last. I have a long weekend off of work coming up and I have a list of small stuff to wrap up on my Pfinder. My next li'l hang-up is to figure out the trans cooler and elect rad fan mounting. I will need to eithe...

An update and a few more pics. Worked on it weekend before last and got a lot of stuff done. Mainly the driveshaft installed, exhaust put together, some more wiring plugged in, finished the p/s pump install and serp belt is now on. The driveshaft had to be shortened. I took it to a drivetrain place ...

When doing this swap...does one need to change the suspension in the front, as i would assume the VK56 is way heavier than the VQ40 From my best calculations, the VK is less than a 100 pounds more than the VQ. Kinda hard to find that info though. The steering knuckles/ spindles, upper and lower con...
