You shouldn't need to top off if you just did the bypass. The reason is you're eliminating a segment of the path the fluid goes through. Check your ATF level using the dipstick on the passengers side of the engine. You will need a 10mm socket to take the bolt that hold the ATF dipstick.

Thanks for the responses. I agree if it busts its can become a serious problem but the other day while I was bypassed I experienced 180-195 temps while in massive stop and go traffic which is common here in the metro area of PR. I still haven't had a chance to test temps since I just installed it a ...

Well I finished the install. Thought about putting it on the drivers side but had concerns on blocking airflow to that area. Ended up mounting it below the stock cooler using some metal pieces I had around and the bottom screws of the stock cooler. The only issue I faced was getting the cooler strap...

I totally understand but since I got it at no cost, why not put it to good use?
I'm in Puerto Rico and our summers are between 95-105F with loads of traffic.

Tips for installing second transcooler

Hi guys, recently I got a used pathy and performed the bypass to avoid possible cross contamination. I was speaking to an old friend about this and he told me he bought a transcooler for his jeep but sold it before having the chance to install it. He told me I could have it so I picked it up. Its in...

You shouldn't have an issue, but if you are concerned, you could always just install an aftermarket radiator. Unlike the genuine Nissan radiator, they aren't that expensive. Mine cost me $94 (not including coolant and new foam seals). Quick update, I just checked the ATF dipstick(pulled out 10mm bo...

Just bought a used 06 (bypass question)

First of all, hi everyone! I found this forum while researching the bypass. I bought a used 06 SE 4x2 w/ 94k miles for $6500 last week. Maintnace records from dealer in the glovebox sold me on it. Car is in great shape and all lids have no sign of milky color. I was paranoid so I had a buddy of mine...
