That's normal....to a point. It's the gears syncing..or trying to. It can be finicky at times but they should mesh eventually. Try driving backwards and try it.

The 4x4 lever should be all the way forward (toward the dash) for 2wd (normal driving). From 4HI to N you need to press the lever down then pull rearward. Easiest thing to do, for a start, is upgrade the factory fogs. Remove them, cut the pigtail connectors off each lamp, wire the pigtails onto your new lights and mount them. You keep the factory switch and they stay legal by turning off when your high beams come on. Leds are great and will draw less....

Probably more hassle than it's worth. You need a hot knife or wire to cut through the urethane that bonds it to the body.

Yes, the bushings (trailing arm) themselves are available or new arms with the bushings installed. But, they require a press to be removed and pushed in if you get just the bushings. All the other bushings are readily available.
