Yes, there should definitely be an amp turn on lead connected from the radio to the amp on wire in the factory harness.

Yes, you should already have any required adapters in place if you already had an aftermarket radio. The issue has to be in the wiring you modified for the new radio. To hook up the steering wheel controls, you'll need this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039H2W66/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&a...

I think there's an amp ground in the harness that you forgot to hook up.

Post back if you can't figure it out. I'll try to pop the radio out of my '01 and can post the exact color to color matchup between the factory harness and the aftermarket radio that I'm using.

Check fuses and confirm the basics like power and ground to the radio. I'm running a JVC radio in my '01 QX4 with Bose system. No adapter at all other than the basic wiring harness.

I believe most chain parts stores can pull them, though as the cost of scanning options have decreased it's really worth it now to own a tool. If the light isn't flashing and there's no reasonable alternative, go ahead and drive it. If you have an alternative I'd certainly use that since you don't k...

Is the '4WD' light the only indication that it's in 4wd? Just making sure that it's actually supposed to be lit, given that it's used for a vastly different purpose in mine. Edit - just confirmed that it's a warning light for you as well. Check page 2-9 and 2-12 at this link: http://www.courtesypart...

Is your '02 an automatic 4wd system? If so, the 4wd light on the dash is an indicator of an error in the system. There is a separate display indicating power to the back wheels (2wd), all wheels (automatic mode), and all wheels plus locked center differential (part time 4wd mode). There's also a LO ...

We bought our '01 QX4 with 194k for $3k about 6 weeks ago. Runs great after a front brake job, oil cooler o-rings, replacement MAF, belts, and a couple of other cheap DIY items. Still could use a new set of plugs and forward O2's, but that's about it.

The 3.1 V6 used in early Rodeos was a GM engine, but the 3.2 used after that was made by Isuzu.

Do you know where the oil is actually going? An oil leak on an engine with 125k isn't exactly unheard of and is certainly fixable. If it's burning that much, I'd say yes - that's excessive.

WTB: R50 radio brackets

I've got an '01 QX4 that uses a slightly larger than double DIN radio. From my research, an R50 Pathfinder uses a standardized double DIN unit and the brackets are compatible. Does anybody have a set of radio mounting brackets they are willing to part with? Thanks!
