I had similar symptoms when battery died. After a few kilometers straight driving with speed more than 40km/h and restart the engine all went back to normal. After battery replacement never happened again even if driving in deep snow.

Welcome to forum!!

What about the camera angle, are you planning to modify that? My guess is that you do not see much when towing and its not worth it.

Anyway, if you are going to do it, would you post some pics and "how to's" here.

My first guess would be that the brakes aren't released as they should be and it smells because the brakes are overheated.

I have noticed that driving with 4wd(auto) or 4wd(Hi) it takes 1-2L/100km more than driving with 2wd. In winter with mostly 4wd(auto) it takes about 15-15,5L/100km and in summer mostly 2wd it takes about 13,5-14L/100km.

Navy display and cold temperatures

There has been -20 C (or colder) for a last few days and I noticed that navy display is blank until the rear camera turns on (reverse gear). After switching to drive everything works just fine.

Does anyone else had noticed similar?

2005, 2006, 2007 paths should be same. So, it depends of condition of car. Some newer might be a lot worse than older. I'm not sure about services with diesel, but according to service manual, the interval is 15.000km and every 30.000th is "bigger service". I had to replace all wheelbearin...

The 265/65R17 are fine also. The are different interiors available in european PF's. For examples take look here . As for diesel engines i've heard that chains need to be replaced at 100.000-150.000 km and would cost about 1500€. On tranny bypass be sure that your path has a separate rad for tranny....

The M+S (mud+snow) marked tires are required by law here In winter.
I use Nokian Hakkapeliita 5 (265/65R17) tires. Those are pretty good on snow and ice.

I recommend to switch the ESP off and 4Hi on when driving in deep snow.

My pathy has 265/65R17, no suspension mods. The spido shows a little more than it really is. When GPS shows speed 90 km/h then the spido shows about 95 km/h.

To update the maps all you need to do is replace the DVD (under the passenger seat) with newer version. How to get the DVD is up to you.. buy from dealers or search and download from internet and burn it yourself. You need good quality DL DVD's for that. To update the software and/or firmware you ne...
