If you don't have an OR Edition, correct, you don't have those 3 plates. Of the 3, I would call the fuel tank most critical. Gives me the heebee geebees having that big plastic tank hanging out under there for god knows what road debris to whack it. The other two plates are covering awefully critica...

Heh, yeah, they aren't tank armor that's for sure, but it should keep the transfer case & etc from being cracked open in one hit.

Google's finally found us.

Searching "thenissanpath" finally returns our URL, and googlebot is now chewing along indexing everything. Hopefully soon we'll get a decent page rank and start getting more traffic through here. Looks like Yahoo is starting to index us now too, Yahoo!

Installing OEM Skid Plates

Just installed the 3 OEM OR Edition skid plates last night: http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/2006/SkidPlates/DSC_1214.jpg http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/2006/SkidPlates/DSC_1217.jpg http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/2006/SkidPlates/DSC_1220.jpg Yes it's 3 additional plates, the Nissan U...

They would be hard to get with a simple point-and-shoot camera, you really need full manual control and a tripod and a bunch of luck. The Nikon D70s is a digital SLR, so it has all the manual control of a traditional 35mm film SLR.

Postcards from the Coast

After watching the World Cup final today I went for a drive on a favorite scenic dirt road of mine, down south of Monterey on Hwy 1 near Big Sur . Finally got to fool around with the 4wd system on my new Path, playing with the VDC and ABLS and 4lo and just generally playing in the dirt like a kid. H...

For my old Murano I did some octane vs. HP/MPG tests and did find substantial gains with premium fuel. I'll have to do the same with the Path here at some point for fun...

Makes sense. All Pathfinders have VDC & ABLS, so it's fully capable of applying the brakes without your help and knows the attitude of the vehicle. Please keep us posted on what you find, that would be very sweet if it's just a switch and maybe a little wire and we've got Hill Start/Decent :D

That's one mean rock crawler you've built there. I love that pic in your other post with the well dented lower front skid plate

July 4th Fireworks

Shot these last night out beyond Shoreline Amphitheatre here in the SF Bay Area with my Nikon D70s, aperture at F11, ISO at 200, with various different shutter speeds (from a couple seconds to 30). http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/2006/July4th/DSC_1005.jpg http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/20...

What kind of sound system did you get? I don't have the Bose, but if it's like what was in my 300ZX then it has line-level coming out of the head unit and individual tuned amps attached to each speaker. Makes it a *#$*@ PITA to upgrade, you pretty much have to gut the thing and start over, including...
