Thanks, smj. Had to re-tap the holes to clear the oxidation. You are correct. M8x1.25 is the proper fitment

Update: Had to re-tap the pre-drilled holes. Simply ran an M8 tapper through the holes to clear out the oxidation. M8 x 1.25 went right in after that.

Correction. The tail lights on the trailer work when the brake pedal is depressed or the turn signal actuator activated. The parking lights / running lights do not work all the way around including the rear tail lights.

Anyone know which relay is responsible for this?

Followed this how-to pretty much to a tee. Only difference was the spray paint option. Went with some black enamel I had lying around. Wish I knew how to post photos or I'd show a picture of the braces. But, if you go to Home Depot look in the cabinet section and they are called Everbilt Double-Wid...

Any issues with the mounting screws? I've been trying to mount a custom bracket in the pre-drilled holes. The diagram below states they are M8 size but I can't get M8 bolts to run through - too big. And M7 falls out.

No Trailer Lights. Which Relay?

Hooked up the boat expecting to hit the lake this weekend and upon the final step in the process of plugging in the 4-pin connector I discovered I have no trailer lights. To be clear, this is not a situation where just the running lights are out or a case of no turn signals. It's all the lights incl...

Bought a lease turn-in '11 V8 about 2.5 years ago. First LOFR was free so I took it in. Noticed two issues when I got home. One was the airbox you mentioned. Second, they lost a lugnut. Needless to say I don't go back unless it is a warranty (i.e. Free) service.

Resurrecting this thread as my R51 has been recently pplagued by the classic heat shield rattle this week. Was backing into the garage up a 10 degree grade and heard the signature sound. Since then I've kept my eyes peeled and hear it occassionally at low speeds around 1,500 RPM. Wanted to check in ...

I notice a decently significant difference in fuel mpg and how long a tank lasts as far as miles go when I use higher octane fuel. I know this because my driving habit doesn't change and I do some pretty consistent driving to and from work @ about 80mph daily for 17 miles one way and about 40 mph f...

One aspect that helps to mitigate dating the R51 is the fact Nissan killed the mid-size SUV and turned the R52 into a minivan/XUV. I picked up a 2011 V8 when Nissan announced the R52. It is one of the last of a dying breed as CAFE standards force many manufacturers into fewer truck (body on frame) p...

OP is from Mass. 5w30 would be my vote. After all, when was the last time you heard a case of engine oil failure in a non-racing application where the owner actually changed the oil at recommended intervals. Oil is one of the areas the marketers have been successful in convincing the general public ...

Heard differing reports on the QTP. Some say DMH has a better warranty. Otherwise, I am curious what may be the pros/cons in an R51 application - particularly the V8.

Multiple accounts of issues with the seal. Some say it sounds like an exhaust leak constantly when closed.
