I've had this problem in the past and I park on a steep incline with the nose up (in lieu of jacking the front) and open the radiator cap (with a cold engine of course!!). Set the heat to max and let the engine warm up. Once the coolant starts flowing rev the engine as smj999smj stated. Some will sp...

Swapped this out today without issue. The replacement part was identical to the original and I couldn't tell any difference in the edges where the TSB shows to place glue. I'll throw a couple pics below. I suppose it's possible the original valves that were subject to the TSB were made different or ...

Yeah, one of those features where they meant well but didn't quite hit the mark. I'd much rather go back to manual. I've said that at some point on just about every vehicle I've owned with auto climate. The PF is the worst but my wife's MDX is far from flawless. The sun sensor in the dash seems to ...

I've had a somewhat similar issue for a long time. On my '08, I've researched that the auto climate is tied to an outside temp sensor, dash sensor for sun, and two interior sensors. I'm guessing one of them is goofy and throws off the "logic" but I'm not sure which one. I run it in manual ...

A recall doesn't require symptoms so they should fix it regardless.

It will be interesting to compare the two since my '08 should have been an updated part from the start. I'll take pics of both once I get to it. Hopefully this weekend some time.

Gone to the dealer and its not a warranty or a recall item. Nissan dealer said they didn't have the part in stock and only 3 available in the whole country. So looks likes the dealer can't even get the parts themselves, quick fix is to glue it. I have one coming Wednesday according to my dealer. Sa...

my question is would one have to do the same procedure if installing a new valve? You know what they say about assumptions...but since the TSB only lists vehicles prior to January 2005, it sounds like the known issue of the TSB was corrected or was just a bad batch. I've not seen anyone complain ab...

SMJ999SMJ: My '08 recently started making this noise and I'm quite confident this is the problem. I don't have the Consult-II in order to turn it off but the noise and rpm is exactly as described. Beyond a minor annoyance, it doesn't seem to really be a "problem". Do any of your part sour...

You might try resetting the codes, unplug the battery for 10 minutes or so, and try again. Pretty hard to believe a simple drain/fill could cause code-setting problems. Seems like a sensor is goofy or was tripped up somehow by the fluid level change.

Was this just a drain and fill (~4qts)? I assume you used the Nissan Matic-J, Matic-S, or comparable?

Yup, same thing happened to me a year ago. I went through the same process as you for diagnosing and came to the same conclusion. Contacted dealer and they swapped it out per the recall. Took about an hour. I'm not sure why I was never notified of the recall and it sounds like you weren't either.

I've got a pretty heavy foot....particularly on the back roads. Passing trucks in short passing zones requires it. I actually felt the V6 was quicker in passing situations as it revs a little easier. I avg about 19ish for my commute. My previous Tundra V8 averaged 15 if I was lucky and I couldn't ru...

In terms of trucks, I would say the V6 feels like driving a Toyota Tacoma while the V8 feels like driving an F250. That's a pretty good analogy actually. I drive a lot of curvy/hilly back roads and the V6 felt more agile to me and on paper they're almost identical in terms of acceleration. Never mi...
