Center or Third Brake Light

I am not in the mood of opening $100 on the silly looking light. There are YT videos about gutting these out and placing in LED strips. I believe the top strip would have to be 10†long and 8†for the bottom one. There are two in case you have not noticed. It would be nice if someone who knows ele...

O2 AF Sensors

Hello just changed the engine on my 2009 pathfinder. But I think I might have to change the sensors. Actually I am pretty sure I have to change them. Could any of you give me a bit of guidance as to what to order? I think the 2 front ones are O2 sensors and the rear are AF sensors - but really I hav...

I really do not want the mechanic to buy these... so I am getting them myself - cheaper! These are the parts I confirmed on Walker website. The only thing I may be missing is the gaskets - amazon does not say if they are included. Perhaps some bolts also... SMJ - I think it was you who said that the...

So I am now looking more in-depth at the exhaust system. This is from the 2009 Pathfinder Service Manual for V6 engine. But where are the cats??? SMJ, I think 9 and 5 in the pic below are the "mid tubes that you are talking about? They are not the cats, correct? http://oi64.tinypic.com/30j4783....

Burping for Dummies

Hello, Could one of you pros please post a step by step guide on how to burp the pathfinder. Mine happens to be 2009 version. Too many posts and they are a bit vague here and there. For example, which cap gets opened first? Are they both open etc.. Any specific type of coolant? How much do you lift ...

A good diagram would help. But every manufacturer has their own diagram.... Also, SMJ, how certain are ...

SMJ - wow lots to think about. Not really - I just have to spend the $$$$. Thank you for your great help! I think I will do exactly what you say: new front cats, new sensor, rear pipes And new spark plugs with new ignition coils that just arrived today. Not sure what you mean by headers here: "...

Since I am looking at a bill of 3500 to replace the whole engine.. do you guys think it would be a bit cheaper to just replace the piston rings and the valve seals? Those parts would be cheap I think. The labor cannot be more than 2k. Is there a chance that this would not fix it? 4 years ago I drove...

Well I lied. Got there - they asked me to step on the gas (i did for 5 seconds at 6500 rpm) - and there was smoke coming out everywhere. But there is no smoke when i drive in the city or just idling. They all agreed that the engine needs to be changed. Fiddling around with the pistons, gaskets valve...

Thank you, guys! Saw the mechanic yesterday, he drove it around, seems to think the engine sounds really good. He says it would be quite loud if the cylinders were scraped... 2 errors for engine light: P0153 and third cylinder misfiring. Mechanic thinks we should fix these two issues. and go from th...

HiBIRD - thank you. I think you are right. no loud noise other than loud engine when the oil is gone. No blue smoke anymore. In the begining (1st year) especially winter mornings this was an issue - nowdays i see it only in winter mornings after i do my top off. mpg is about 14.5. going to see a mec...

Help - conflicting diagnosis - engine ruined by diesel

4 years ago i filled up my tank with diesel - by mistake - drove it like that for about 25 miles - with lound explosins every 5 seconds and a lot of smoke. Stealer cleaned it up. Cleaned it up again and replaced the cats. Since then I add a gallon of oil to it every 500 miles. In the first year ever...
