U-joint?

I am going on a long trip in October from Massachusetts to Niagra Falls Canada so prob in the range of 1,000 miles if you include all the driving when there. So I was wondering is there any way to check the universal joints to see if they need replacing before I go? 2012 R51 Pathfinder with 62,000 m...

That's crazy! You should stay away from tire shops you are cursed! ..lol

I was talking to the owner of a tire shop in my area and he says he has more returns with major brand tires then he does with his second tier discount brand.

I was just reading something on this issue the other day. It seems to be more of an issue with a small number of early VQ40 models? I think the one I was reading about was a 2007 if I can find the article I will post the link. I wonder if high mileage motor oil that has seal conditioners would help ...

Positive ownership

Often I find on auto Forums that people come on here to talk about issues with there car or truck either big issues or small ones and that's fine that's one of the advantages to forums. The only negative is you don't hear much about anything positive so here you go.. I often ask people what they thi...

You should look at tire weight the LT tires can weigh quite a bit more effecting both fuel millage and wear and tear on suspension components. LT tires usually give you more tread depth that's a plus but the ride usually suffers. You need to ask yourself how much off roading do I plan to do? Also if...

I just finished coating my frame on my R51 Pathy with rubberized undercoating and got some on the exhaust and for the last two weeks I have had that burning smell so anything on the exhaust like grease may take a while to burn off. Did the truck come with some sort of a warranty when you bought it? ...

Just an update I finished undercoating my R51 frame and it really came out fantastic! I spent most of my time cleaning it with brake cleaner and a few rags so the undercoat will stick. On the frame I wound up useing the professional grade Ruberized coating at Harbor Fraight called (Armor Tough) I bo...

I figure before I tow my camper this year I should check the level of my auto trans fluid. So how do I do this is there a dipstick someplace or do I need some sort of scan tool that only the dealer can do?

I guess if the truck is in real good shape other then the motor and you like your truck I would replace the motor. First I would make sure the transmission is in good shape. There is a company I think it's called Jasper Engines you can look them up on line and they sell rebuilt Nissan VQ40 DE V6 mot...

2012 is a good year it's the last year of R51 production and most problems were worked out by then. The R51 Pathfinder is built on a real solid frame it is not a Uni-body like most of today's SUV's this has some advantages and some disadvantage like ride. A body on frame truck has a tendency to have...
