Re: Power Seat Automatic Adjust disable

One last bump for input. Called some more dealers and they would look at it, but not sure I want to pay 100/hour for a look. Has anyone had the option turned off at the dealer? I disabled he entry/exit function on my '06 LE when it was a couple months old. I guarantee nothing. I thought I posted th...

I threw some Goodyear Forterra TripleTreds on my '06 LE after 56k on my OEM Generals. Much, much better on dry, mildly slushy, wet, and very wet roads. No experience on snow or ice yet, but I had Assurance TripleTreds on an Accord a few years back (nearly identical tread pattern), and they were the ...

[snip] My original one failed around 54k miles. I replaced it (ordered from Courtesy Nissan for about $55) around 65k miles (just had to keep an eye on the odometer for 320miles  ) and now have 70k miles. I do notice this new sender likes to flash DTE around 240miles, while the old one would ...

Re: Tires and Brakes

I'm just curious why you would rebuild your calipers? are they leaking, sticking? or are you just talking about the hardware ie. clips for the pads. I used brake cleaner on my hardware and they are like new still. No - blow out the piston, re-lube, and replace seals. Cheap preventative maintenance ...

tire and brake replacements

My '06 LE is coming up on 56k and the OEM General Grabber AW tires are close to the wear limit - in other words, I've been sliding around on them for a couple months  I'm looking at Goodyear Fortera TripleTred ($182 at TireRack) and General Grabber HTS ($128). Both have stellar ratings at Tir...

They just aren't up there with Honda and Toyota. Funny - my '99 V6 Accord had 3 transmissions in less than 100k miles. I drove it another 30k, then dumped it. I'll probably never buy a Honda again. My CPO Passat went to the dealer at 20k for an oil change and 8 issues - all minor, but issues noneth...

Ralph, Nissan has a service bulletin on this, but it makes specific mention of MIL DTC codes P0461/2/3 - Reference NTB07-069a. Check the forums at nissanhelp.com (registration required) for the full bulletin. The issue seemed to be widely discussed on the Xterra and Frontier boards too, and the part...

Fuel gauge issues

I had the fuel gauge sending unit replaced in September under goodwill w/ me pitching in 50% of the labor rate due to P0455 and 463 codes being thrown. At the time I was seeing very slight irregularity w/ <20 miles left on a tank of gas - no big deal except for the SES light on the dash. All seemed ...

Re: What grade of engine oil

The PF owners manual states that; "It is essential (for the owner) to choose the correct grade, quality and viscosity engine oil to ensure satisfactory engine life and performance." The Nissan 'fuel economy' recomendation is 5W-30 but I was wondering if any chose an 'optimum engine longev...

Hey Ride - let me know what happens to you. Check my most recent discussion in here - I have P0455 and 463 showing on my car. Hopefully my dealer helps me out. I see you are in NE Ohio - you wouldn't by chance be getting your car serviced at the dealer in Streetsboro, would you? It would be kinda fu...

TSB NTB07-060a wanted for P0455 code.

Update - I found NTB07-060a, but I'm still open to suggestions. Pathy is going in to the dealer tomorrow for $90 diagnosis - hopefully they see that failures like this on a car this young are a little silly and go to bat with Nissan for me on this. Greetings, My '06 Path w/ ~42k miles has codes P045...

Hopefully you didn't pay anywhere near MSRP :) Problem is my one dealer. They may be hurting enough now to negotiate, but a few years ago they were not. From the Infiniti web site, '08 G35x AWD base price $34750 + prem $2300 + sport pkg AWD $1100 + Nav $2150 + destination $815 = $41115. If I went do...

Thanks for the suggestion. The g35 is on my list. I drove a few a couple years back. Nice car, and I like the newer one a lot more. Any idea if the current model has about as much (or more) rear seat room (relative to the Maxima)? The last one was a bit crowded in the back. RWD is probably not an op...

Boogyman, Congrats to you too on the new little one! We have a Graco SnugRide infant seat w/ base and it easily fit in all 5 cars we drove last weekend. Outboard seats may be a requirement in the Audi A6 because of the contour in the center of the back seat, and the center position would nearly be a...

Very disappointed w/ Altima and Maxima

We're looking for a largish mid-sized sedan for the wife since baby #1 is due any day now, and her beloved MX-6 doesn't work too well with an infant carrier. We test drove a Passat, A6, A4, Altima and the new '09 Max this past weekend. We saved the Nissans for last since I'm a long-time Nissan fan, ...
