Did you ever get this resolved? I'm in the Northwest (obviously, lots of rain) and when I bought my 2008 used a few years ago it had the same smell of mildew and, like yours, only when it was open. Also, my previous 2001 Infiniti QX4 (purchased used)- same thing. No leaks on either. If I had to gues...

I was just checking the NHTSA website reading the Pathfinder complaints. They are mostly trans/radiator failures (no surprise) with a few fuel sending and delta stroke sensor failures. There are now a lot of 08's listing the trans/radiator problem occurring this year. In earlier threads on this foru...

I had this caster/camber kit installed since I just put on 4 new tires and had a 4-wheel alignment done for the first time on this vehicle (82,000 mi). As I mentioned before, though it drove very smoothly with no pulling or vibration, I was not getting great mileage out of my tires under normal driv...

Very helpful!

The service advisor said the same as you about them sometimes being a bear to get out.

Thanks!

Advice needed on optional front-end bolts for alignment

I've never had an alignment on this vehicle, so I had my dealership check it on my 08 AWD (75,000 mi). Has a nice graphic print-out showing how the tires are wearing. Though it drives smooth as glass (no pulling or vibration at freeway speeds and no road noise), I've not been getting great life out ...

That's helpful as I'm expecting the other side to go at some point. I'll be listening for that ticking sound.

I wasn't even aware of it until he pointed it out, so I couldn't say. I've always had a great power curve with this drivetrain, so I don't recall any loss of power.

That's a good price to not worry about the whole failure thing. That fix should last the life of the car. Wish I'd done what you're doing.

Skid plate wouldn't fit back in V8 with CSF/Stillen aluminum radiator- see link below.

V8 cracked exhaust manifold

My service advisor (who was a wrench turner for a bunch of years before moving out front) at the dealership I use, heard a slight hissing coming from my engine bay when I was last in for an oil change. I couldn't hear it. Turns out 1 of the exhaust manifolds was cracked and therefore leaking. He sai...

I went with the original OEM #21460-9CA2E, which is the newer number after fixing the problem and had my dealership install it. If you read my link (above in the same thread) from my problem with the Stillen/CSF radiator, I was tired enough of the problem to just go with what I thought at the time t...

Correct- no by-pass. It's either swap the radiator or do the by-pass. If you do the by-pass, you can stay with your original radiator. By swapping it out you should be all set for the life of the car. Though there is a lot of discussion on the pros and cons of the by-pass method in this forum, I pre...

When I asked that question of the service advisor at my dealership, he said this is the one Nissan told them to use for any replacements of radiators. He's been with them quite a few years and is good. Management didn't give specifics to him, but implied it's been redesigned. It's new to their line,...

I left my tires on because I didn't have that equipment either. I used the factory jack and did one side at a time. It was fine. I'd suggest doing the exhaust side first, since it takes more of the tubing. I ran it up along the top of the frame to avoid the exhaust pipe and used large zip ties to ho...
