Hard shifting

Thanks for the info., very helpful...I tow a camper with it and had the fluid replaced once already and it's due to be replaced again. I just want to be as proactive as possible and realize that heated fluid will eventually breakdown and subsequently cause failure. The current fluid has been through...

Hard shifting

2006 PF SE V6 Auto 4WD, 129K miles. Trans replaced with rebuilt at 80K by dealer after trans/rad failure. My questions is, when the truck is cold or hasn't been driven for a period of time, the trans shifting from 1st to 2nd is not smooth. It seems to kinda softly slam into 2nd for the first few shi...

Gear Grinding

Thank you all for your very informative and valuable information. That's why I love this forum...I have read through all of the posts and I will try to turn off the VDC in the next storm and report back my findings. In the mean time, recently pulled a CEL and when there's time to take it in for serv...

Really?

Wow! thanks for the feedback, would love to hear from more PF enthusiasts regarding this issue. Just this morning when pulling into work, braked on ice and grinding occurred. Really having a hard time believing that is a normal sound. I guess what is so troubling is I'm not feeling the engineered re...

Gear Grinding

Nope, almost 100% sure that's not it. Passed recent inspection with a focus on the front suspension components. Had a similar problem with a 4 runner after driving through salty ocean water. Hubs needed greasing. The head scratcher here is it does it when the rear wheels are spinning while fishtaili...

Gear grinding

Can't be normal, hard to believe Nissan would design something where gear grinding is a design specification, but thanks for the input, maybe someone will have more specific information.

Gear Grinding in left front axel

2006 PF, V-6, 4.0, 4WD, SE, 126k miles. Noticed a gear grinding noise (like 2 gears not engaged and grinding against each other instead of engaging) during snow covered road conditions. Applied brakes hard (skidded) in snow and heard above noise coming from left front axle. Figured it was the ABS sy...

Slow window motor

2006 PF SE, 116k, Auto, Power,...I noticed the passenger side window was moving slower when closing. It has been gradually getting worse and most recently appears to be getting stuck or slowed greatly at the halfway point. My question is what is the lubricating procedure or remedy to fix this? Can I...

06 PF TPMS, which one is bad?

So, my mechanic tells me that he doesn't have the scan equip necessary to determine which sensor is bad. Tells me to take it to Nissan, (sounds expensive)....so what are my options now? I would like to take the TPMS system offline or unplug the dash bulb but mechanic also says this is impossible.......

TPMS DYI?

Thank you for the information. Is this a job I can do myself? or does it involve/require specific "shop" tools?

Thank you,

2006 PF SE Tire Pressure Sensor

Question is, how easy is it to replace the battery inside the tire pressure monitoring system? 2006 PF SE, 4wd, V6, 4.0L Auto., with 114K miles and low tire pressure light is on. Just replaced the tires and all are good on air. Thinking it has to be the sensor battery, right? Please advise and thank...

Ebrake

Aha!!...makes sense, now if I can only locate the cable tension adjustment location....Does anyone know where this may be found? Also, I use the ebrake on inclines to eliminate tension on the parking gear as well as when towing the camper. I have a travel trailer and when trying to hook up to the ca...
