Still don't overlook the battery as a possibility. I've seen them crank the engine fine as wine, but still not start it. Compromised battery, loose or dirty battery post clamps, sometimes the negative cable post clamp does not securely tighten on the post (the clamp will twist or rotate on the post ...

Thanks eieio, that manual is something I've been needing. 41 ft/lbs seems like a lot for that spring housing, but I'll do it. A lot of good info in there, and on this forum. Glad I found both. Charlie you're welcome. :) we have our own on-board service manual: 2005-2012 Pathfinder (R51) > 3rd "...

Hey guys, can we open it up one more time? The last post, by eieio, ask about the torque for the bolt holding the tensioner. I have searched the web over and, psssst can't find the answer to that question anywhere. The size of the bolt would hold probably 60 or 70 ft/lbs, but I know it doesn't need...

Re: Mystery engine noise

Hey everyone, So some possibilities : Alternator, but I just replaced it last summer, and it's not acting up from a charging perspective. Power steering, but there is no change to the noise if I turn the steering wheel. Could be belt tensioner pulley, but why would the noise go away on shutdown? AC...

Thank You for the reply. I made it home and had a chance to inspect it. the drip does not appear to be from the lines. I'm starting to worry that its the front main seal of the transmission or something with the torque converter. I've wiped all of the oil off and hope to see some evidence. here's a...

Had the Pathfinder towed to a shop this week. They too thought it was just the battery. Put a new one in. I told them to sit on it a day. Then, sure enough, they now have issues. They're saying it could be either the ECM or the TCM. Would the TCM have been changed when I had the transmission replac...

Re: Heat issue

I got my ‘07 pathfinder in September ‘17 with 79,000 miles on it. When it started to get cold outside, I would start it up in the morning for about 20 mins and it was not warming it up. I mentioned this to the dealer since it was under warranty and it was the radiator fluid leaking into the tra...
