That little spring seems to be a problem mine has come off twice now. Not too bad to put back on. Use a little screw driver that fits in the hole on the end of the spring to leverage it back in place.

Come on guys, 9800lbs for the whole truck, the jack is only lifting the rear and most of the weight of that truck is the big iron under the hood. So the jack is lifting 5-6000 max. Still way too close to rated capacity for me but NOT over the capacity. Just a crappy floor jack. and ALWAYS use stands...

EBC green stuff pads. No doubt. Changing the pads is easy, Pull tires, two bolts to remove caliper, push piston back in (I use a c-clamp), pull old pads off, slide new pads back in (transfer shims off old pads if new pads didn't come with them), reinstall caliper with same two bolts, reinstall tires...

There is no front tow hook on my 05 XE either. I think it is one of the bonuses for paying more for a higher content package.

Anytime you are stressing the motor more than normal is will build a little more heat. As long as it stays well into the normal zone you are fine.
