Just had this problem happen to me coming back from my trip to Portland this past weekend. Oregon has people pump your gas for you. Well In the 14 months that we've owned the Pathfinder we've never had the problem but the guy at the pump in Oregon figured out somehow how to pop the spring off. Only...

Re: Rain Channels - paint flaking

Other then hitting it w/touchup paint, is there any other tips that you all are doing to address this? I saw a couple guys post they were looking at putting some bedliner material in the channels to protect it, but never saw any follow up. One of those guys was probably me. I've since seen numerous...

Hoping not to have to go to that extreme for this one little spot. Plus, if it keeps happening (and it sounds like it will), hoping for a quick repair just to maintain. But thanks for the feedback.

Rain Channels - paint flaking

Washed/waxed the Pathfinder yesterday. Noticed the paint on the tall side of the rain channel flaking for first time (only in 1 spot). Knew this was an issue (seen a few threads here), but was holding out hope. It's a 2007 so it's out of warranty. Other then hitting it w/touchup paint, is there any ...

Tried doing this tonight and got 2 bolts out without any issues. The remaining 4 got half way out and stopped cranking. Put some WD40 on them and will let them sit overnight to see if that helps. Anyone else have any issues removing the bolts? I assume the bolts are just dirty from the undercarriag...

So has anyone installed a magnefine in line filter on the Pathfinder? I searched and this was the only thread that popped up. I'm just curious to see if someone has and where in their ATF return line they located it. Doesn't look like much room really anywhere in the return line to put it. Magnefine...

I realize this thread is nearly a year old but for others looking for additional filtration, look into the Magnefine in line filters. I use them on my Hondas and they are fantastic. One question, I have not seen any threads/info on changing the AT filter on the Pathfinder. Does it have a serviceable...

Does it make the gate close any softer or does it still slam as you close it?

I've got to try this...horn blowing every time you lock it is quite annoying. Hope it works. Thanks.

2007 SE rear hatch

How hard/easy is it to close your rear hatch on your PF? Mine slams no matter how easy I try to shut it, like there is no resistance in the pneumatic support rods. It stays up fine when open, and when I try to keep it from slamming, it doesn't shut all the way and I end up having to slam it anyway. ...

Even if somehow the spark plug O-ring was bad there can not be oil shooting back from the cylinder into the cavity; seems like either some oil was left in there from the factory or your second guess: a pinched or poor seal of the rocker gasket around that plug cavity. Anyone have a pic. of the insi...

Excessive (Brake?) Dusting

I've noticed that along the rear quarter panels and the back gate i get a fairly heavy coating of black dust. Is this brake dust? I've never seen it this heavy on any of my other vehicles. I thought OEM pads were ceramic and have never seen ceramics dust that much. Anyone else experiencing this? Tha...
