The service manual for my path (2006 EURO) says service interval is 15000km and minor service (basicly engine oli change and just some checks) for each 15 Kkms. "bigger service" is for every 60 Kkms and "major" service for each 90 Kkms it includes replacing belt, coolant, all oil...
Not sure about the system (graphics) update but you can update your maps quite easily (DVD version).
All you need is DualLayer dvd disc and image file with map data.
Search for "Carminat Navigation Europa" for example.
Burn new DVD
Replace the DVD (reader is under passanger seat).
Rannunziato, you could check if it is VDC simply by switching it off.
I do not how it is on US models but mine [european] has a "ESP OFF" (same as VDC) switch at centre console between seat heater switches.
If your problem goes away while VDC is off, then you'll know its all normal.

I was totally out of luck that day. First the jack broke, then the T-bar broke... It took about 30..45 min to get the spare tyre ...

With gasket it is getting worse and worse over the time and you have pretty good chance to get over heated and damaged cylinder head. NB! chec...
I took mine to service at dealership and asked them to trace the noise. In my case the sound is from rear dirve shaft front u-joint. Dealer said that it is quite a usual for PF as the u-joint gets rusted over the time. So, I'll replace the u-joints of rear dirve shaft soon. I've done this with for f...
My path makes similar noise. (Sounds similar to a rubber friction) I lifted rear wheel and went under the truck to trace the noise. Seems it is coming from transfer case or front U-joint of rear drive shaft. The noise is clearly hearable while turning the wheel or driveshaft. The U-joints looks good...
PS-Any way you could make your Flickr photos available to everyone? Those photos are public at Flickr. You can take a look at this URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/taavitiitsu/ Tavvi, what's up with that rear bumper bar? How does it attach and where did you get it? The rear bar was installed alrea...
