Check out Crutchfield.com they give you the dash kit and wiring harnesses with your HU purchase. Even if you don't buy from them if you go through the steps it will show you what you need in the cart for your specific vehicle.

oh ok, I see it now. sweet. I saw that some people say they required a dash kit and others said they didnt.. does it vary depending on headunit or is it just personal preference to not have one? from what it looks like its basically just a shroud to hide any gaps but doesnt really bear any load or anything.

More that a shroud... It basically bridges the gap between the radio and the car. It mounts to the radio and then make the radio mount to the car where the stock one mounted. In addition to eliminating gaps etc.

It comes with the Crutchfield order... But, to answer your question I don't have it... Sure someone has it or it may be in the service manual available on the site.

thanks for the pics and tips everyone.
I finally pulled the trigger on this over christmas. installed a a jvc kw-avx740 with metra dash kit and metra antenna adapter. i prewired everything with heatshrink waterproof butt splice connectors so it really was plug and play. i ran the mic from behind the sunglass holder through the headliner, down the passenger pillar behind the glovebox to the unit. all in all pretty easy. might need to install a backup camera now ;)

Sorry, didn't actually order any parts myself, my buddy who knows about car stereos took care of that for me. But you will need the dash kit and wiring harness. Also if you have steering wheel controls and want to keep them you will have to buy a seperate module for another 60-70 bucks on top of everything.
