SRS light flashing. Please help

Postby BullDozer » Mon Jan 02, 2017 10:17 am

Happy new year to all.
I recently tried to get a stuck CD out of my 6 cd stock bose by disconnecting the battery. While I battery disconnected, I cleaned my car, underneath the seats etc. i could not get the cd out, but now the SRS flashes.

I tried the suggestion on you tube where you turn on and off like 8 times, but no luck. Still flashes while I drive.

Wondering if i bimbed a cable while cleaning under the seats?

Any help out there?

There is an occupational seat sensor built into the passenger seat's lower cushion and the wiring harness sits below the sit. It's possible that while you were cleaning under there, that is what happened. It might be worth unbolting the seat and tipping it back to inspect the harnesses under it. If you can't see anything out of the norm, you'll have to access the SRS codes with a capable scan tool or go through the manual procedure to retrieve codes per the service manual.

So problem is fixed!

Here is what I did. I tried the turn on and back off procedure and seemed to start flashing differently, possibly went into a different mode?.

But light was still there, flashing when driving.
Then I noticed under the passenger seat, there were three wires, and the right most wire, I believe yellow in color and slightly larger housing the other two - was not connected. Is this for Pathfinders that have electric heat or power?

Any way I connected this wire, and now light is gone.

Thanks SMJ!

Since it caused the SRS light to come on, I would think it had something to do with the occupational seat sensor.
