R51 Rear differential what is excessive output shaft play?

Hi fellow members, just a quick question re vibration and excessive play on both output sides of my rear differential. Just looking for confirmation that the diff has gone.
I take it that there should be no play on the half shafts going into the diff? Vibration is worse when I lift my foot off the gas.

Have you checked your Ujoints? There should be zero play on the differential
Output shafts. Check axles aswell if you are noticing play, maybe the cv joints are going back and need to be replaced. Differential would usually be the strongest component in the chain.
