Shocks and struts for 2001 Pathfinder 2WD

Postby edwardmn » Sun May 24, 2015 1:21 pm

Hi,

I have the original shocks, struts and springs on my 2001. 150k miles. Its a pretty rough ride. I'm not going to do it myself. I don't mind spending good money to get top quality parts but this vehicle is in average condition and I am not doing any off road or significant towing. Just want the best parts for everyday driving.

What do I have replaced besides the shocks, struts, springs?
Will any of the national brand service shops have quality parts?
Am I better off finding a good local independent shop?
Any recommendations for an independent in Dallas TX?

Ed

Rockauto.com has good prices and quality parts. KYB is a popular choice as it's an OEM supplier of struts and shocks to Nissan. Bilstein's are also popular. If you go with the Monroe Quick-strut option, you'll get the entire strut, spring, mount and bearing already assembled, which will save labor; you old strut will be needed as a core.
