HELP ME PICK NEW SHOES!!!

Postby TheGr8Zamboni99 » Sat Oct 04, 2008 7:03 pm

I will be needing some new shoes soon and was wondering what kind of tires everyone has bought. I just purchased an '06 SE 2x4 for the Wifey to haul the offspring around in. Looking for a QUIET, smooth ride.

It has BFG Rugged Trails on it now but they are kinda whinny. I have BFG AT KOs on my Wrangler but they are even louder and I am not taking our PF off road.

Suggestions, comments...THANKS.

Michelin LTX M/S for a quiet tire which will cover all eventualities and give about 80K of use with not having to worry about flat tires.

I am seriously considering the Pirelli Scorpion ATR as my OEM replacement. I love the look of a more agressive off road tire than this but do not off road and think this might even get slightly better mileage due to it"s tread design.

Finally, the price is reasonable. Here is a link:

If I was to go with more of an off road tire there is no doubt it would be the Bridgestone Dueler Revo. I put these on a jeep a couple of years ago and they were absolutely outstanding. Here is a link:

Yea...The Revos are sweet tires. I almost ordered them for my Jeep but I got a really good deal on 4 BFG AT KOs. Thanks for the info on the Michelins, I'll check them out.

Goodyear Fortera TripleTread. Best tire hands down for dry & wet grip, handling, hydroplane resistance, and smooth/quiet ride. Can't yet comment on longevity, but 10k on these tires and I still don't notice a difference.

I've had the Michelin Cross Terrain's on another vehicle and they are no comparison to these tires.

Recently put GY Fortera's on my 08 Pathy S with 16" wheels. Love them.

I've had the Scoprion ATR's on mine for abotu 11K miles now. Good tire so far. Not loud, great grip, wearing in well.
