should I expect problems?

Postby lordnitsua1989 » Thu Jul 30, 2015 5:12 pm

I'm very close to buying a 2012 pathfinder But I'm worried about the radiator and trans failure. Searched all over online in hopes of reading that Nissan has eliminated the problem for newer models but came up with nothing.

Has anybody heard anything about this?

Thanks

Nissan corrected the radiator problem I think with the 2010 model year. Also they updated the timing chain and guides I believe also the 2010 model year. I have a 2012 Pathy that I bought used with 7,000 miles last year I have 28,000 now and the truck has been great no issues but I would not expect any with under 30,000. Most if not all of the issues were worked out past the 2010 model year. I say buy it add some air bags in the rear and you are good to go!

Most of the issues discussed around here including the radiator failure issue are fixed on the 2012. I wouldn't have any hesitation about buying it.

2011 and 2012 models have the updated radiator and timing chains...as well as a number of other updates for things that caused problems in earlier years.

Good for you!! It's a great truck I love mine ... They can be a bit quirky at times but that's all part of the fun of owning an R51 Pathy!
