About to do the radiator swap..

Postby nelson0639 » Sat Dec 12, 2015 6:52 pm

After reading all the posts about the bad radiator I decided to bite the bullet and swap out the radiator... I work at a parts store, got the radiator tonight, MURRY, coolant and some ATF fluid Max Life D (Val). A shop is going to do the swap on Monday and charge 200$ anyone that's had it done.. is that a good price? paid $168 for all the parts. One other thing should I swap out the thermostat while they're in there?

I'd say that's a decent price, its a 4 hour job or so. But while you are in there, you may as well have them change the belt and tensioner too.

Labor guide time is 3.0 hours. Thermostats are pretty reliable on these engines, so if it's working okay, you might want to leave it alone.
