CD player/changer my CD player won't work

Postby fastassblk01 » Tue Apr 05, 2016 3:37 am

My CD player/changer won't work in my 01 LE.
Anyone know how to get it going again?
I was just thinking they might be fixable?

Sometimes you can disconnect the battery cable for a couple of minutes and then re-connect it. Most of the time, though, you will have to remove the unit and send it out for repair or replace it with an aftermarket, depending which way you want to go.

Honestly, I would go with getting a new unit. I recently switched out the headunit on my 2000 and it's awesome. Any double din unit will fit. It was a surprisingly easy process even for the first time, and frankly unexperienced with cars guy I am. My new unit has the features many of the newer cars have such as blutooth, touch screen, etc. My audio quality also drastically improved as well because of more audio tuning features a newer head unit will allow. The stock head units also seem to under perform as it ages I've noticed as well. I've had two pathys and both headunits were lacking.

Being that he has an LE, it would be a Bose unit, so it's not just swap a radio out. It can be done, but it'll need a converter to run the aftermarket head unit with the Bose amps and 2-Ohm speakers.

I have a Bose system as well. All you need is to use the scosche adapter.

I believe Pac Audio makes them, as well. Then there's another adapter if you want the steering wheel controls to work with the aftermarket deck.
