Quaker State vs. Mobil1

I have seen some tests that prove how good RP oil is but why isnt their oil API certified as high as Mobil 1?
Mobil 1 is SM/SL rated yet Royal Purple is SL only. Also, a bottle of RP says to use on '04 and older model cars... What gives?

I would avoid the quaker state 1st off because its owned by pennzoil and pennz is one of the worst that stuff sludges like a mother! If I remember correctly it has some kind of wax in it that breaks down and builds up. I use any Ashland Full synthetic like Valvoline or Carquest brand(same as valvoline, but cheaper)... So my opinion would be Mobile 1.

im old school so i do it 3m/3k with most newer engine the factory says you can go 4-5 in my old rav 4 toyota said it can go 6m and my friends honda the manual says 9K but i pretty much just to 3/3 with sysn oil you can commonly go about 5k some say even longer. i think amsol has a twice a year oil that goes up to like 15k

My truck's had Mobil 1 synt. pretty much all it's life. The guy I bought it from had receipts of it starting from around 97 when he bought it..and it still runs like a champ, so that's what I will keep on sticking with.. For the record it has 164K and the motor runs and even looks, almost new!

my toyota truck is running with 1 and has 256,000 miles and is still trucking. i have no complaints with mobil 1 at all
