Dobinsons vs OME (or others) Suspension Upgrade

Postby SDGuero » Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:51 pm

Got the wife a van so now I'm driving the pathfinder.

The ride feels soft to me in the rear and needs tires in the next 5k miles or so.

I like to drive on dirt roads, sometimes some light 4x4 stuff. Vehicles are paid off so I can put a couple grand into the pathfinder to keep me interested and away from the dealership for a couple years... I was thinking a small suspension lift and new tires are in order. Maybe a new front bumper as the plastic one on it now is pretty beat up.

Going off the reviews here and price (it's $70 less than OME kit I saw) I was thinking I'd get the Dobinson's kit:

While I'm in there, was thinking about replacing the control arms:

Any other stuff I should look out for? Tire suggestions?

I'm taking some time off work later this summer so will have some time to get it dialed in.

Thanks!

Armada springs for the rear with new shocks
Front springs are good with 5100 shocks to lift it.
Spc(rockauto has same ones rebranded) UCAs

@thupertrooper

I noticed your signature says you have the Airlift 1000 on your ride. I was looking at that exact kit this morning as I have been thinking about getting a travel trailer. I wanted something that would just help reduce the sag if it comes to it. I'll definitely be getting an equalizer hitch for towing but, wondered about the Airlift system as well.
