swapping in a newer touch screen NAV system on a 2005 path

Does anyone know if it's possible to swap out the 2005 NAV system for a newer touchscreen one from a newer model?

possible, the touchscreen is standalone

but the only thing u can do with touch is move the screen right and left in the map, nothing more. (no clicking, no menus,... )
